1st of May is a public holiday in Germany. It was a nice warm day but even if it were, everybody in Germany just goes out on this day for what they call “Maiwanderung”. People go hiking in nature. And of course alcohol is part of it, usually beer. Some carry their own stash and some take their “refreshment” at the strategically situated mini restaurants along the hiking trails.
So, I also went out, for – why not? When in Rome, be a Roman and all that…But, I am not a big hiker. Instead, I went to see a Botanical Garden in another city nearby. As I was waiting for the lights to turn green to cross the road, I used the opportunity to take the picture of this beautiful building.

Getting closer, I found that it was the city’s art museum. Didn’t have time to explore it but now I know of one more place for a rainy day.

For Dan’s Thursday Doors.
In this blog, I focus on sharing some of the photographs that I capture, often during my travels but also in the everyday life. If you’d like to read about my travels, you can find the stories on this blog – Reflections on the River.
Beautiful doors. I love the reflections in the glass panes, and I really appreciate the close up photo. The notion of a strategically placed beer stop is intriguing 😉
