In Spain, there are several cathedrals with a door called “Puerta del Perdon”, which means the “Door of Forgiveness”.
I found one of them in Granada. I didn’t know it then and didn’t take the picture of the complete facade but then a lot of google search later, I got some details. The gate took a long time to be built – from 1528 to 1610, started by Diego de Siloe and finished by his student Ambrosio de Vico. It is probably the most beautiful of all the entrances to the cathedral.

For Dan’s Thursday Doors.
In this blog, I focus on sharing some of the photographs that I capture, often during my travels but also in the everyday life. If you’d like to read about my travels, you can find the stories on this blog – Reflections on the River.
What a magnificent door and entry. Wow. Hugs.

That’s amazing. Can you imagine, two people working on an entrance for over 80 years.

Thanks Dan 🙂. Well, yes, it’s difficult to imagine from our vantage point of 21st century when nobody seems to have an attention span of more than 10 seconds anymore. But in those days of no netflixes or tik-toks, people had to do something to keep themselves occupied 😀. And I’m sure they would be doing several projects in parallel. Things took time also because of funds being diverted from cultural things to the ever-present threats of wars.
