If I were a princess, I would’ve lived in a palace with amazing decorations everywhere, with performance artists ready to perform whenever I would’ve felt like getting some entertainment (pre-netflix era 😉), talented chefs cooking delicious meals for me and and and …you get the idea – a royal life.

I wonder if there were no kings and queens who patronized art and artists, would art have survived or we’ve had lived in a world devoid of art?
I also wonder if that life would’ve become boring after a while, if one didn’t have to deal with all the conspiracies and wars, that came with the territory!
Anyway, it doesn’t matter, for all this is just idle thought. I am happy to buy a ticket and visit a palace, get unlimited content for my entertainment from any part of the world and get delicious food from any cuisine or even make it myself – all whenever I want ..ok the first one only within opening hours but still)😀.
What do you think?
For Dan’s Thursday doors.
In India especially Jaipur, the art has flourished and survived because the Kings patronised the art and it was part of local culture.

Life might become boring, but I’d be willing to give it a try 😊

😀 actually in India, it can be experienced to some extent – if you have the money. There are palaces which are partially converted to Heritage Hotels where guests get the royal treatment 😀.

What an interesting thought! Would we have no art without kings and queens – I think we would, but what about architecture? Hmm. Anyway, lovely door, and if I were Queen I’d definitely employ a cook because I love to eat but hate cooking!

Thanks Snow 😀. “No art” would be impossible! Thinking of all the folk art and music that people in rural areas have been making over centuries🙂. But I think that without rich patrons, probably we wouldn’t have all those masterpieces because only when the basic necessities of life are taken care of, one can invest time and energy towards pursuit of higher things like art and music.
To hire a cook, one doesn’t need to be a royal, it’s enough to live in India 😂 – you can get one for as little as a 100 Euros a month (or even less depending on the city of course).
