I am so glad that Tina from Travels and Trifles has presented this photo challenge for this week as there are a ton of interesting pictures I took this year, many of them thanks to the reopening of travel, but so far hadn’t gotten around to post yet. I didn’t want to title my post “Last Chance” as the prompt was, because I will keep blogging in the next days. So I named it the “Good Memories of 2022”.
So let’s start the journey.
First in the list is a beautiful waterfall that I came across in the Plitvice National Park in Croatia in Spring. I am so behind my schedule to document the journey in my other blog (http://relfectionsontheriver.wordpress.com) but it will come soon!

Next comes a road that I was on, returning from Mt. Olympus (read about the trip here) at the other end of which was the Aegean Sea!

In summer, I explored some pretty towns near where I live, and came across this beautiful church complex in a town called Bingen. It was so big that I couldn’t capture all of it in one frame and had to do it in parts. Below is a glimpse of one part. A hill would’ve been great to get the 360 degree view!

Somewhere in one of those towns in summer, I met this cute Swan family, who came near the wall on which I was sitting to have a little snack.

Then in autumn, when I was still in search of some sun and warmth, I reached Split (follow the link to read about the trip) in Croatia and found this beautiful promenade lined with Palm trees.

On the same trip, I managed a day trip to Dubrovnik (you can read about the trip by following the link) and was lucky to get the shot of this beautiful central street, which in summer would’ve been so crowded that I might not even find a place to stand, let alone take a picture.

As autumn set in, one beautiful day with blue skies, I captured these leaves at the fields near my home.

And finally, just as temperatures were about to drop suddenly, which I was not aware of when I left home, I made a small trip and reached Pompeii to see the site. And of course, Pompeii’s story is incomplete without Mt. Vesuvius. Luckily, this was not the time for it to explode. Trip yet to be documented.

And as I was about to return, I found these beautiful clouds coming over the Antiquarium – the small museum at Pompeii.

Now back at home, it’s so cold that I don’t feel like taking out my hands from the gloves outside, to take any pictures but I still did one today.

With this I will close the set today even though there are so many more to show but I am sure there will be many more LAPC prompts to showcase more of them next year! Wishing the LAPC community a lovely holiday season and a good start into the new year. I am grateful for many things in 2022 but like a normal human, have many wishes for 2023 – topmost being end of war and covid! Hoping to get some wonderful pieces of news in the coming days, some even before 2022 ends!
Stay warm in the Northern Hemisphere and Stay Cool in the Southern, and stay healthy and safe anywhere you are…

Such a great collection. I do love the photo of the couple on the Place in Dubrovnik. They would love the photo if you know them. I also love that you remembered to capture Mt. Vesuvius. I havn’t been to Pompeii and think it might be easy to forget with all the ruins there. nice memories. and I am with you and hopes of peace, and health for all.

Thanks very much Donna 😀..that was a sweet couple but no, I don’t know them, they just happened to be there! Mt. Vesuvius – oh yes, I was capturing it from wherever I could see it but then I decided to share the one I took in the end, and you are right – the ruins were really engrossing. The travelogue post will come soon on my travel blog 🙂. Wishing you a lovely Christmas and a good start into the New Year 😀.

Thank you so much Sofia 😀..it was perfect to have the couple stand there and talk without caring about the paparazzi 😂. I have no clue why they wanted to stand in the middle of the road to have their conversation (they were not being photographed by their friend or anyone).

A good year for sure. That’s a lovely opener at Plitvice, and Dubrovnik’s shiny streets, almost empty of people- sublime!
